100 Shots! 88 more to go...
As opposed to some of my colleagues, I have much further to go to complete my 100 shots at a local bar in Shanghai. The payoff, you ask? Why, you're name permanently etched on their wall, of course! Here's the list of shots and me knocking another 5 off the list...

Wrecking Che's Book
So my nephew and I are working separately on the same project. We both have this book by Keri Smith called "Wreck This Book." In it are many instructions for ways in which we have to methodically, but creatively, destroy it page by page. The final stage is to mail it to yourself, but in our case we are going to mail ours to each other. So stayed tuned for photo documentation as I slowly help my book meet it's demise. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go stick it in the shower...

Mou Tai, Chicken Feet and Sushi. Mou Tai is the local strong alcohol of choice. Very expensive and very strong (think Everclear). The chicken feet have always remained untouched by me, although I was told the ones in the picture were a bit spicy. The sushi photo is from a different location and was actually quite good. Of course, it was being washed down with lots of Kirin.

I forget which pavilion this is...

The UK pavilion... Very cool. Made of acrylic rods with seeds in the ends of each...

The Spanish pavilion... Made from stretched out baskets as coverings...

New Upcoming Jonsi CD (Sigur Ros singer)
So I found out that while Sigur Ros is on hiatus, their lead singer has been working on a solo album due for release April 6th. What I've heard so far is pretty good, and get this - you can actually understand him this time around (mostly) as the album is sung all in English. I'm attaching two of the singles for you to check out.... enjoy... (the first one is more of a preview). I can't wait...

Little One...
Our house has fallen silent
With the loss of little Boo,
His tragic end has left our world in grey;
The little spark of energy
That flickered through the house,
Has vanished as it died with him that day;
We're left with sad reminders
That seem difficult to bear,
His favorite things now sit in endless wait;
We talk about the things he used to do to make us laugh,
To try and lift our spirits from this state;
It's hard when it's the little one
That's sadly taken first,
It's harder still to try and ease the pain;
I'll always miss his snuggle time...
His tiny little cries...
He's gone but all the memories remain;
The cat who thought he was a dog
Has left behind his love,
His precious Abby once more sleeps alone;
We all lay close together now
Much closer than before,
To fill the empty space felt on our own;
The tragedy of life is it gets taken at His will,
With Boo, I couldn't save him in the end;
I'll always keep on trying when I dream of him at night,
I miss you, Boo...
.....my buddy....
.....and my friend

We love you Boo... (2006-2010)
Boo died today. It's a very sad day in our house.
We'll miss him terribly, and the other animals - especially Abby - know something's not right, but don't really understand yet. Hopefully Abby will adjust without her trusty companion.

Check it out… my own personal QR Code for “whatsnewwithrob.com”. Now if I print it out and stick them everywhere (and of course if everyone has a QR Reader app), then I’ll get a ton more hits on my website!!

Today had such great promise...
Apart from several near death experiences as our car barely missed
head-on vehicles travelling at 50mph, the ride to the market was
fairly uneventful. The unfortunate part was that for the hour long
ride to get there (apparently the best fish market around), we were
only out of the car for about a total of 15-20 minutes. Which
basically means I didn't get many photo ops. It was dirty and crowded
and everyone looked at me like an alien - especially when I started
taking out my iPhone and iFlip to document the event. All in all,
though, it was worth it.

Once homeward bound however, my stomach started acting up and by the
time we arrived, I found myself going straight to bed and there I
remained until about 7:30 this evening. (except for the occassional
runs to the bathroom - no pun intended). I feel better now and am
going to stick to dry foods only from here on out. Hopefully the
weekend will go well...

This morning...
It's 6am and I'm off to a local village fish market for some fresh
catch... But mostly to see what pics I can take.

Pan - Exposed
Seema's motto around here is that sometimes it's best not to know what
it is that you're eating.... Case in point...
it is that you're eating.... Case in point...
Pan - it's not just for breakfast anymore...
So this is what they eat after meals... It's considered good for
digestion and consists of a bunch of seeds and crunchy things, some
minty tasting things, fennel seeds (the only seed I know of) and other
things... About 12 different ingredients all wrapped in a leaf. It's
interesting.... And it's called Pan.

Hindu Wedding Reception
So tonight the house played host to a Hindu wedding reception which
started on Indian time - which means like 1.5 hours late. There was
also a fire throwing guy which I find surprising fir these sort of
things - even though he was entertaining. I'll try and get a photo of
the bride and groom (mostly the bride) if I can from my perch up high.
